The team’s three MXGP bikes will feature Öhlins RXF 48 S forks and TTX Flow DV shocks
Upplands Väsby, Sweden, February 10, 2022: Öhlins Racing, already one of the most visible brands in motorcycle racing, is expanding its presence in MXGP competition through a strategic relationship with Johan Westermark Racing (JWR). The 2022 MXGP Motocross World Championship series will feature 21 rounds of competition, kicking off February 20 with MXGP of Great Britain at England’s Matterley Basin.
The JWR team will include three series veterans – Seva Brylyakov, Davy Pootjes and Miro Sihvonen – riding Honda CRF450RW bikes equipped with Öhlins RXF 48 S front forks and TTX Flow DV rear shocks featuring the brand’s all-new preload adjuster.
Öhlins will provide testing and race support to JWR throughout the 2022 racing calendar. JWR is headquartered in Stockholm and operates a racing workshop in Lommel, Belgium. “All of us at JWR Honda Racing are proud to be working closely with Öhlins in 2022,” said team owner Johan Westermark. “We believe Öhlins is the leader in suspension technology. It’s exciting to see a Swedish team and a leading Swedish brand work and go racing together. We’re also looking forward to helping Öhlins test and optimize new products for top level competition.”
“Motocross is where the Öhlins brand first established itself as the gold standard in motorcycle suspension technology, so we are of course pleased to support JWR as it expands its footprint in MXGP,” said Robert Brinkmark, director of two-wheel sales, marketing and product management for Öhlins.
With more than 45 years of expertise in motocross racing, Öhlins continues to bring top-of-the-line innovation to professional riders and dedicated enthusiasts. The brand also is a leading choice of teams in MotoGP, World Superbike and other leading regional and international racing series.
